What are the advantages of building a fiberglass pool?
The two most important decisions you make when purchasing a pool are: 1) The type of pool you buy and 2) The company you choose to design/build your pool.
It's fairly easy to change out a pump, a filter, or even a heater, but changing the type of pool you own is not so simply done. In today's pool market you have three options to choose from: 1) A Fiberglass Pool, 2) A Concrete Pool, and 3) A Vinyl Liner Pool. While all three of these pool types have advantages and disadvantages more and more homeowners are making the decision to build a fiberglass pool. That is why fiberglass pools are the fastest growing segment of the pool industry.
Here are a few of the advantages of building a Fiberglass Pool.
1) A Fiberglass Pool is a permanent Home Improvement that never needs any major refurbishing.
2) A Fiberglass Pools is installed quicker than any other type of pool. This means you'll have more time to enjoy your pool and you'll have less hassle on your family during the construction process.
3) A Fiberglass Pool has a smooth no-abbrasive surface. This means you won't have to deal with any torn up feet or snagged bathing suits like you would on a concrete/gunite pool and you won't have to deal with any unsightly wrinkles like you would on a vinyl liner pool.
4) A Fiberglass Pool requires less chemicals due to the non-porous surface. This saves you both financially as well as saving you time. Owning a fiberglass pool means you'll have more time to enjoy your pool because you'll spend a lot less time working on water chemistry.
How much do fiberglass pools cost?
This is among the most common questions we receive. The price of a fiberglass pool can range greatly depending on the overall scope of your project. Much like building a home, the price of a fiberglass pool will depend on the size of the pool, the quantity and material choice for the patio around the pool, options added to the pool (covers, lights, tile, water features, slides, basketball or volleyball sets, handrails, ladders, etc.), landscaping around the pool, and ease/difficulty of access to the pool site. As a general rule base package pricing for a fiberglass pool from a reputable builder in Illinois will range between $ 30,000. and $45,000. What's included in a base package will vary greatly between different pool companies, but as a general rule they will include all the basic necessities for a pool to operate. Base package pricing can be dramatically different between different pool companies due to the quality of equipment offered in the package (pumps, filters, heaters, lights, etc.). In an effort to keep base package pricing down many pool companies will not include required basics such as permit work and detailed plans, electric or gas work, stone or sand, and some don't even include hauling the dirt away. We recommend choosing a builder who includes all of these necessary expenses in their base packages so you aren't suprised with a bill for all of the hidden costs. Many other options are avialable to customize the pool to your specifications. Once all options are added (including fencing and landscaping) our jobs have ranged between approximately $30,000 and $200,000 with our average jobs costing between $45,000 and $90,000.
